    Look on the bright side, you're still alive

Disappointment

     They say that if you don't expect anything, you won't be disappointed. 

Who the fuck are 'they' anyway?

And what the fuck do they know?

I didn't expect you to reject me, but you did.

I didn't expect you to say that you really don't care, but you did.

I didn't expect us to hurt each other, but we did.

I didn't expect you to say that you don't want to see me, but you did.

I didn't expect you to be like me, but you are.

    The sadness creeps in, slowly, 

gently

taking hold while I'm not looking,

I'm distracted 

    I sob uncontrollably as my heart sinks deeper

I am in despair, I am grieving

I miss you.

    I realize my error, my shame is great, 

I'm sorry for losing myself....in you

 I lost faith, in everything, in everyone

Including myself. 

My mind keeps going, I can't sleep, or eat

    I talk to death, pleading for relief 

I am hurting. 

You left, I asked you to, 

    I will always remember that sadness...
